We all have those days when we need a piece of chocolate, and nothing else when satisfy us. It can be a candy bar or a piece of chocolate cake; we don’t care what it is just as long as it’s chocolate. I will admit that I have many days like this, and below are some of things I eat and make when I get those chocolate cravings.
If I am at work when those chocolate cravings start, I will head to the nearest vending machine and buy two candy bars. Yes, I said two. Most of the time I will buy a Three Musketeers candy bar, and a pack of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I will eat the candy bar first, and put the peanut butter cups in the break room freezer for later. In my opinion, nothing tastes better in the afternoon than a frozen peanut butter cup.
I also want to note that if the vending is out of Reese’s peanut butter cups and Three Musketeers candy bars, I will get a Snickers bar and a bag of plain M&M’s.
When I get those chocolate cravings while I am out shopping, I will usually head for the nearest bakery or cupcake shop. If I am near a bakery I will get a slice of chocolate cheesecake topped with pecans or walnuts. If I am near a cupcake shop, I will order a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate cream. However, if I can‘t find a cupcake shop or bakery, I head over to the nearest grocery store. I go over to the bakery section and buy a pack of chocolate chip cookies, and then head to the self-checkout lane. If I am having a really bad chocolate craving, I will open the bag immediately and eat the cookies in the parking lot. I have gotten a few stares while doing this, but that didn’t stop me from eating those cookies.
If I am at home when those chocolate cravings hit, I will head to the kitchen and make myself some chocolate pancakes. I make these pancakes by adding chocolate pudding to the pancake batter. I sometimes also add in leftover chocolate chips or pieces of a toffee candy. These pancakes taste so sweet that you really don’t need any jelly or syrup. On the days I am having really bad cravings I can easily eat three or four pancakes by myself. They taste so good that I am actually thinking about serving them as a dessert. To make them look more like a dessert, I could top them with whip cream and strawberries or toasted coconut flakes.
If you think I have bad chocolate cravings, I know some people who actually drink chocolate syrup right out of the bottle.
