The type of CEO’s college students admire today are the ones who are very innovative, creative and willing to take risks.
Years ago when a survey was conducted regarding the type of CEO’s college student admire, the majority of responses were for the CEO’s of traditional corporate companies like Honeywell, Citicorp and IBM. Today’s college student seem to be more impressed with CEO’s of tech and entertainment companies.
A breakdown of responses from a recent survey revealed that many college seniors admire Google CEO Larry Page. They are very impressed with his marketing and business skills. They feel that under Page, Google has transformed from being just a search engine to a powerful multi-faceted internet company. Many college seniors also have a lot of respect for Page because he was one of the original company founders. As far as the future goes, most of the college students who participated in the survey predict that Google will become more involved in the entertainment field. Some of these predictions included new video features being added to Google Glass. While many of these students would like to work for Google when they graduate, many others stated that the success of Google has encouraged them to start their own business.
Not surprisingly, the survey also revealed that there are a large number of college students who admire the Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. These students are very impressed at the way Zuckerberg has grown his company. And despite some of the challenges and glitches Facebook has experienced over the years, they still believe that Facebook is a dominant social media network company. Many are also impressed with the way Zuckerberg is transforming Facebook into an advertising platform. These students believe that this is a smart and creative way to gain higher visibility and generate additional revenue. In terms of the future, these students believe that Facebook will become much more than just a social media network within the next three years.
A lot of male students who participated in the survey admire Jay-Z, the CEO and founder of Roc Nation. These students admire Jay-Z because of the way he has transformed himself from a rapper into a multi-million dollar businessman. Although some don’t necessarily like the lyrics of his music, they do approve of his business style. At the present time these students are most impressed with Jay-Z’s decision to expand into the role of sports agent. They view this move as an example of how Jay-Z continually grows and challenges himself.
Some of the other CEO’s college students today admire include Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, Sean Combs, CEO of Bad Boy Records & Revolt TV, and Magic Johnson CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises.
