Just like many of you, I am looking forward to the new Star Wars movie scheduled to be released at the end of the year. Because I was so curious to know what the new movie would be about, I have been going online searching for a trailer or an article. I was able to find a few articles and a short trailer, but unfortunately they didn’t provide many details.
I am not ashamed to say that I am a loyal fan of the Star Wars movie series. My favorite is the “Empire Strikes Back”, followed by “Return of the Jedi”. On the other hand I was lukewarm about “Attack of the Clones” and “The Phantom Menace”. I think for me it comes down to casting. I just couldn’t get into the later versions because they didn’t include Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford. This brings me to the trailer for the new Star Wars movie.
Although several articles indicated that Ford, Fisher and Hamill would be featured in the new upcoming movie, I did not see any of them in the trailer. I wasn’t really surprised by this because from a marketing standpoint, it is more beneficial to the movie studio and investors to keep some things secret until a few weeks before the movie is launched. The actual trailer itself was very short, and only featured shots of the galaxy and flying futuristic space ships. As a result, I wasn’t really able to see what this movie would be about. However, as I mentioned previously I am sure that more details and trailers will follow as we get closer to the movie release date.
One more thing I need to point out is that according to several articles the main storyline of the new movie will focus on the children of Princess Leia and Hans Solo. It will be curious to see what type of personalities these children have, given the unpredictable personality of their parents, especially their father.
Now let’s move on to the new Terminator Genesis movie trailer.
I am not a fan of the whole Terminator franchise, but my favorite ones are the original Terminator movie and Terminator 2 Judgment Day. I just felt that the two other movies (Terminator Salvation and Rise of the Machines) just didn’t connect with the original Terminator storyline. Based on what I have seen of the trailer for the new movie, it looks like Terminator Genesis tries to pick up where Judgment Day left off. The only thing that is confusing is that it looks like the new movie will take us back to a young Sarah and John Connor. Despite the confusing storyline, I am still really looking forward to seeing Terminator Genesis.
